Highly flammable and highly toxic materials
The production of lithium-ion batteries is complex. Highest precision and maximum protection for employees and the environment are required, because producers have to handle materials that are difficult to process, sometimes highly flammable and highly toxic. In this context, the requirements for minimising dust emissions from the process equipment are continuously increasing. With CS+, Schenck Process is introducing a new differential weigh feeder system which, as part of the value chain in battery production, stands for maximum process reliability in the area of component dosing.
Consistent containment concept
CS+ fits seamlessly into plant concepts that rely on a consistent containment concept to limit dust emissions. One of the outstanding features of the Schenck Process system is its high dust-tightness. This minimises risks for users during production. For the new development, Schenck Process was able to draw on many years of experience and tried-and-tested solutions from the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, thus focusing on safe handling and cleaning as well as the avoidance of product contamination through metallic abrasion. The differential weigh feeder system enables users to achieve consistently high accuracy for consistently high product quality.
Modular design
Thanks to its modular design, CS+ can be individually adapted to customer requirements. This concept makes it possible to cover a large dosing range with just one dosing unit type: CS+ is suitable for small quantities from 1 litre per hour as well as high dosing capacities of up to 5,500 litres per hour. The system is available in two sizes for different outputs and operating modes. A mechanical lifting device makes CS+ easy to clean. The precise and particularly robust design in combination with an optional end bearing of the dosing screw additionally reduces the risk of contamination due to the metallic contact between the dosing screw and the discharge pipe.
