US producer of plastic granules relies on RHEWUM wet screening machine

In his production chain an American manufacturer will no longer use two machines for screening his plastic granulate, but only one: the Rhewum wafl with two screen decks.
Pavement markings have been used since the beginning of the 20th century. Today they are part of the modern street scene and without them we would sometimes lose orientation. The line markings create a clear and safe traffic guidance. The products of the world’s leading North Carolina-based manufacturer are not only used on roads and highways, but also on taxiways, take-off and landing runways, parking lots, intersections and in all types of commercial, construction, government, industrial and architectural environments. So these markings help drivers, pilots and pedestrians to move safely in the right direction.

The exact process of producing road markings will not be discussed in detail at this point, as it is quite complex. However, plastic granulate is processed in the production of road markings, that must be dewatered. With the help of the Rhewum wafl the water can be perfectly separated from the product and a low residual moisture of approx. 8 percent can be generated because this wet screening machine is perfectly suitable for fine and finest solids. It is particularly specialized in separating suspensions of less than 1 mm (0.04 inch) or dewatering them. Usually, this screen achieves a dewatering rate that is about half the rate of a normal linear vibrating screen. This saves the customer expensive energy costs for further drying, as the product is already very well dewatered after screening.

Company extends production of cat litter with RHEWUM screening machines
In order to increase the plant capacity for the production of cat litter, an international oriented company for raw materials built a second production line, in which RHEWUM screening technology was used once again to ensure product quality. A new, modern and automated high-bay warehouse ensures better logistics and efficient transport organisation to Europe as well as to the United Arab Emirates and Australia. After the discontinuation of mining in 1992 the potash factory in Lower Saxony was converted for a cat litter production using the already existing infrastructure. As a result of the success and increasing demand in the sales network with other companies, the second production line will increase capacity by 40 percent per year in the future. For this purpose further proven screening machines of Rhewum gmbH were designed, ordered, delivered on schedule and installed into an existing building. The commissioning at the end of 2019 was successful without any problems

Optimization a of sifter plant by customized modernization
Direct excited screening machines from RHEWUM for sugar industry A well-known European sugar producer was looking for new screening machines to replace his worn-out sizers. Since not only the old machines but also the building were affected, the new sifters should transfer as few vibrations as possible into the building and at the same time increase the efficiency of the screening process. So the decision was made for a machine with directly excited screen meshes. The existing sizers were designed for a throughput of 30 tons of refined sugar per hour with 5 separating cuts, whereas the required product quality for the lowest deck with a separating cut of 0.2 mm could not achieve the required product quality. To find a suitable replacement, trials were made in the technical center of RHEWUM, during which process-relevant parameters of the screening machine were determined and also the compliance with the permissible amount of off-spec particles for numerous sugar types was considered and proved. The results of machine types WA and

RHEWUM develops noise control solution for screening machines
To reduce the noise emission of your screening machine RHEWUM now offers an innovative sound insulation cover. Usually screening machines are not the quietest machines in the production chain. Due to impact bar movements the screen cloth is excited to high frequency vibrations. This, in combination with the product to be screened, causes noise emissions which sometimes have to be reduced. The sound insulation tarpaulin for screening machines provides a quick and uncomplicated solution to this problem. The sturdy, custom-made tarpaulin is covered with an acoustic membrane which damps the sound and absorbs sound energy. The sound power level of the machine can be reduced by 8 dB by attaching the sound-insulating tarpaulin, which corresponds to approximately halving the perceived noise level. The tarpaulin is flexible and easy to bend - which in turn ensures simple and quick installation on the machine. Important maintenance openings remain easy to operate, as the tarpaulin can be opened at the crucial points using robust zips. The short implementation time and the cost-effective

How safely do you screen your ammonium nitrate? Screen your ammonium nitrate safely and without risk by using RHEWUM screening technology.
How safely do you screen your ammonium nitrate?
Screen your ammonium nitrate safely and without risk by using RHEWUM screening technology. Ammonium nitrate is considered to be oxidizing but cannot ignite itself - unless large quantities are close together. Then it starts to work and heats up. The ammonium nitrate catches fire. This releases oxygen and the fire spreads. In fertilizers, it may only be used in mixtures due to its latent danger. But what does this mean for screening? Possible risks that could arise during a screening process of ammonium nitrate are, for example, high dust generation, which can lead to dust explosions and damage to health. In conformity with the ATEX directives RHEWUM screening machines are equipped with a dust-tight housing with connection to a dust extraction system to avoid high dust concentrations. A further risk is the required vibration during screening. All moving parts of a screening machine (e.g. the excitation axles, springs or bouncing balls for cleaning the meshes) which come into contact with ammonium nitrate can potentially cause an effective force. This friction
